A school, a pub, an Italian market

a cute little gate and a footpath

le Rey jumped a million times, but I could not snap the pictures at the right time! Still fun though!

I mentioned before that I'm working on a nouns/verbs pack for journals/notebooks/portfolios...........it will still be a little while before I can finish this....... so I'd like to give you a sample! I hope you like it! Can you please comment/rate in my TPT store, or become a follower of my TPT store if you find it useful? Thanks!

Here's what it look like in a journal (8 1/2 x 12 size, roughly)

Many of these lessons can be used with books from your library,
when students are 'hunting' for nouns or verbs.

heading with definition and examples
student writes in definition and examples
sorting nouns/verbs from word bank instead of book
noun/verb picture sort in simple graphic organizer style
here is the link one more time!!

Have a good one!!

Today I will be OK

Hello Blogging Community!

Well I am still not where I thought I would be, but I am heading in the right direction I think!

I thought by this time of the year that I would be in the British schools, taking pictures left and right, to share ideas from across the pond with all of you.

God has other plans for me. Of course. Why do I always try to be so headstrong and make my own path when I know He's in control? And why do I get so anxious even though I know I should Trust in God and be anxious for nothing? I'm not usually like this, but there is SO much out of my control at this time it seems.

Anyway............I still have no job prospects at this time because of the technicality for overseas teachers. I still have a long list of DIY wedding stuff to get sorted before my family arrives next week!!! I was up until 3am last night on ebay getting who knows what for a flippin' candy bar??!!

But I am enjoying the process of putting our personal stamp on this wedding. for the most part. could really use my girlfriends back home right about now. for advice. for wine nights with Real Housewives. I miss them. I even miss Arizona, 110 + heat all summer long, immigration issues, bad public transport and all.

Today, I vow to not be anxious about the upcoming hosting for our wedding celebration and sightseeing with our families and hoping the wedding goes as it's supposed to.

I will be thankful I have my wonderful love, here with me, not in Afghanistan. We're not destitute, so I will not fret about money. I do have friends here and an amazing church.

My sweetie came off a looooong shift and I'm going to get him breakfast now. If this is my life for now, I will make the most out of it. Today I will be OK.

How about you? Do you get anxious like me?

Please help me get to 100 followers!

I'm at 89 followers......let's see if I can get to 100!!

I don't think anyone has even looked at my last post : (  I really am trying to write more posts and read other blogs (well I always read them, I'm just trying to get better at commenting), all with some sort of balance of my life.

Just a question: how long do you (on average) 1) read other blogs  2) work on your own posts (creating, uoloading pictures, etc)?  I'm curious.

With a big sigh,

A New Job! *she says sarcastically*

This post is not really about teaching. But I hope you find it interesting!

proof that I met my husband on a backpacking trip!

MY NEW JOB.......you can read about here (I really didn't want to write it all out again).

Can I share what I've been up to? I think this will do some good for me because as I was taking the pictures, I realized that I am making progress! I wish I was blogging more and creating teaching materials (I have sooooo many ideas that I haven't transferred to documents!!), but I have other things that must come first.

To catch you up to speed (as I am MIA more than I am present):

1) I moved to England about 5 weeks ago to join my now husband
2) Because of the international issues and our families residing in South Africa and America, we are having our actual wedding here in London in about 3 1/2 weeks (ek....that's the first time I've typed that! that's coming up quick!) even though we are actually legally married.
3) I am working on everything needed to host/welcome our families here (they're coming in about 2 weeks)....welcome baskets, accommodation, side trips, food........
4) I am trying to make this wedding as DIY as I can (photo displays, candy bar, fun facts, invitations, flower centerpieces, music...........
5) I am adding finishing touches to our flat/apartment (frames, baskets, pillows, etc)
6) I am doing all of the above without a car and my husband works loooong days and I am too proud to ask for help (not a good thing I know).
7) Cooking, as mentioned in new job. And working out to fit in wedding dress.
8) England has got a lot of hoops this time around for me getting teaching jobs here. This is probably best since my plate is full.

So here are some pictures! There never seems to be enough time!

Oh and I forgot to say that yesterday I got a UK tax refund from when I worked here 5 years ago!! How unexpected and couldn't come at a better time! yay!!!!!!!! le Rey and I celebrated with sticky toffee pudding.of course.
